Job Description

Peak Rentals’ Shop Manager will safely and efficiently conduct the daily shop assignments; including the repair, maintenance, serviceability and record keeping of equipment and vehicles as assigned. This position will work closely with each Shop Foreman in communicating equipment condition, repair status and equipment maintenance scheduling to endure the safe and reliable operation of Peak assets. The position will also ensure all Fleet staff under his/her supervision is working in compliance with the Peak Fleet Strategies Manual.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to

  • Respectful treatment of all persons, as if each was our customer.
  • Timely communication with Shop Foreman, Regional Fleet Manager, Operations Managers, Vendors, and other supervisors as required.
  • Immediate correction of unsafe conditions as discovered or directed. Immediate reporting of safety violations and concerns to Operations Management and Regional Fleet Management.
  • Participate in all Safety and PPE requirements.
  • Participate in the safe use of all tools, equipment and materials by all staff.
  • Inspect, document, and report the condition of every asset as assigned.
  • The completion of work orders, repair estimates, repair approvals, purchase orders, and DOT inspections of every asset as assigned.
  • The diagnosis, evaluation, and recommendation of repairs on all equipment as assigned.
  • The safe, clean, and professional appearance and operation of assigned shop and related yard areas as assigned.
  • Secure the inventory of equipment, materials, parts, and tools.
  • Compliance with laws, regulations, and Peak Rentals policies.
  • Respond to after-hours calls as needed.
  • Perform special assignments as directed.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Demonstrated high values and integrity.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of heavy equipment, oilfield equipment and vehicles.
  • Written and oral communication skills with the ability to prepare required paperwork and reports.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle according to Peak’s insurance guidelines.
  • 1-year minimum experience in related mechanical field.

Compensation Information
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Physical Demands and Exposures

  • Traditional Monday through Friday, 8 – 5pm, unless operations dictate otherwise.
  • Involves Traveling 50% of the time and sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Exposure to noise levels requiring the use of hearing protection.
  • Needs high degree of concentration in a busy area.
  • Ability to individually lift: Maximum 25 lbs.
