Job summary

GreenWaste is seeking a motivated Shop Maintenance Utility Person to support one or more facilities at our Watsonville location. The role focuses on grounds keeping, building upkeep, and maintaining yard areas to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient operation.

Responsibilities include cleaning yards, offices, and shops; washing equipment and vehicles; and assisting with route coordination as needed. A valid Class C license is required, and English is primary with Spanish a plus.

Qualifications

• Groundskeeping, facility upkeep, and basic building maintenance tasks.
• Knowledge of safe work practices when using cleaning supplies, tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Dependable, punctual, and adaptable to changing needs.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Clean yard/offices/shop (weed removal, trash pickup, sweeping, mopping).
• Wash equipment/vehicles/bins/carts.
• Maintain Oil Waste Station and Wash Stations.
• Swap out trucks to route drivers and assist with route assignments.
• Other duties may be assigned.

We are looking for a motivated, dependable Shop Maintenance Utility Person to join our team. This position is based at 375 Industrial Road in Watsonville, CA, with limited job-related travel required.

Position Summary

GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Shop Maintenance Utility Person to provide support to one or more facilities. This role’s main function will perform routine and extensive grounds keeping and building maintenance duties and upkeep with the facility/yard.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Clean yard/offices/shop (i.e., pull weeds around the property, pick up trash, sweep, mop)
• Wash equipment/vehicles/bins/carts
• Maintain Oil Waste Station
• Maintain Wash Stations
• Swap out trucks if needed to route drivers and help drivers as needed with route assignments
• Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to perform routine groundskeeping, facility upkeep, and basic building maintenance tasks.
• Knowledge of safe work practices when using cleaning supplies, tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and complete assigned tasks with limited supervision.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to adapt to changing operational needs and priorities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills when supporting drivers, shop staff, and other departments.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License (Class C)

Language Skill

• Proficiency in English, Spanish a plus

• Frequently required to walk

Work Environment

Typical work week is Monday through Friday. Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Ability to work in setting with frequent changes in equipment, start/end time, service city/town and routes based on the operational needs for the day and or week.
