Job summary

James Fisher Technologies (JFT) is seeking a Shop Laborer in Loveland, CO. The role supports shop operations, including material handling, equipment operation, and keeping a clean, safe work environment.

On-site work with opportunities to contribute to fabrication and assembly tasks. The position reports to the Shop Foreman and requires attention to safety, ability to read simple drawings, and valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fabrication shop tooling & processes.
• Basic computer skills with MS Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Able to read and interpret simple drawings.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• May require pre-employment drug screening and will comply with JFT policy.
• Must pass OSHA Safety Training.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, grinders, saws and other shop equipment.
• Drive the company truck, courier parts and tow trailers.
• Kit components for downstream processes.
• Maintain housekeeping and general maintenance.
• Verify receipt of items vs purchase orders.
• Attend pre-job briefs and ensure tasks are completed on time.
• Adhere to safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Maintain a safe, clean shop and PPE supplies.

JFT is growing and looking for a Shop Laborer to join our team in Loveland, CO. The anticipated closing date for this posting is 10/5/26 and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Job Function: Performs tasks supporting JFT Management, Shop Welders, Machinists, Fabricators, Receipt Inspectors and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts, grinders, saws and other shop equipment.
• Drive the company truck, courier parts and tow trailers.
• Kit components for downstream processes.

• Verify receipt of items compared to purchase orders.
• Attend pre-job briefs and ensure jobs and tasks are completed on time.
• Perform duties and tasks in compliance with company procedures.
• Maintain a safe and clean shop and manage PPE supplies.

Physical Requirements:

Strength and Stamina: The job involves lifting and moving parts or materials, typically up to 50lbs. The ability to stand for long periods (8+ hours) is required.

Manual Dexterity: Precise hand movements are necessary for handling tools, making adjustments to machines and operating a computer.

Visual Acuity: Good eyesight, including close vision and depth perception, is important for detailed work.

Mobility: Frequent bending, stooping, and crouching is required, along with the ability to maneuver around machinery and equipment.

Coordination: The role requires good hand-eye coordination to operate equipment safely and effectively.

Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members, customers and vendors.

Typical Working Conditions: Machine and fabrication shop environment around equipment such as water jet tables, lathes, milling machines, press brakes and forklifts. Welding operations are often taking place nearby. This job requires adherence to strict safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications & Experience:

• Knowledge of fabrication shop tooling & processes.
• Basic computer skills (MS Excel MS Word, MS Outlook).
• Detail oriented with good written & verbal communication skills.
• Able to read and interpret simple drawings.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• This position may require pre-employment drug screening and will be subject to the JFT Drug & Alcohol Policy.
• Must be able to pass OSHA Safety Training.
