Job description

About Bay Area Millwork Fabrication

Bay Area Millwork Fabrication (BAMF) is a growing commercial millwork and cabinetry company serving the Tampa Bay area. We specialize in custom cabinetry and architectural millwork for commercial tenant improvement projects.

We take pride in quality craftsmanship, reliable scheduling, attention to detail, and professional installation. As a growing company, we're building our team and our processes from the ground up, creating opportunities for the right people to take on responsibility and grow with us.

About the Position

BAMF is looking for an experienced, hands-on Shop & Installation Foreman to join our growing commercial millwork operation.

This is a working leadership position. You will spend your time both building in the shop and working on commercial installations, while also helping our General Manager, oversee the day-to-day coordination of shop production, materials, scheduling, installations, and field crews.

The right person will be someone who knows how to build and install quality cabinetry and millwork, but is also organized, dependable, and capable of taking ownership of what needs to happen next.

You will be a key link between the shop, installation crews, project managers, vendors, and our General Manager.

What You'll Do
Shop & Production
  • Work hands‑on building, assembling, and preparing commercial cabinetry and millwork.
  • Help lead the day‑to‑day workflow of the shop and keep production moving.
  • Review upcoming projects and help determine when fabrication should begin based on project schedules and installation deadlines.
  • Help establish daily and weekly production priorities.
  • Monitor progress and communicate potential delays or issues to management and the project team.
  • Make sure completed work is ready for delivery and installation.
Materials & Inventory
  • Keep track of shop inventory and monitor material and hardware needs.
  • Review upcoming projects to identify what materials, hardware, and components will be needed and when.
  • Work with the purchasing team to communicate material needs and required delivery dates.
  • Help ensure your team has the correct materials on hand when production needs to begin.
  • Identify shortages, missing materials, or potential delays before they impact production.
  • Keep the shop organized and maintain an accurate understanding of available materials.
Installation
  • Work hands‑on with commercial cabinet and millwork installations.
  • Help determine when projects are ready for installation based on shop completion and jobsite readiness.
  • Schedule and coordinate installation crews with management and the project team.
  • Make sure installers have the necessary materials, hardware, drawings, and information before going to the jobsite.
  • Troubleshoot field issues and make adjustments when needed.
  • Help maintain BAMF's standards for quality, professionalism, and workmanship on every installation.
Vendors & Subcontractors
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and specialty subcontractors as needed.
  • Help schedule stone, countertop, and other specialty installation work.
  • Communicate project scope, timing, and requirements to vendors.
  • Execute subcontract agreements with approved vendors when authorized.
  • Monitor vendor performance, quality, schedule and communicate issues to management.
Working Leadership
  • Provide day‑to‑day direction to cabinet builders, installers, and assistants.
  • Work alongside the team rather than simply supervising from the sidelines.
  • Train and mentor less‑experienced employees.
  • Help determine what needs to be done next and keep the team productive.
  • Hold yourself and the team accountable for quality, organization, and deadlines.
  • Lead by example in the shop and on commercial jobsites.
  • Help management identify and solve problems before they become larger issues.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in cabinetmaking, commercial millwork, woodworking, installation, or a related trade.
  • Strong hands‑on cabinet fabrication and installation skills.
  • Experience working with commercial cabinetry and/or architectural millwork.
  • Ability to read shop drawings, blueprints, specifications, and field measurements.
  • Experience operating common woodworking machinery and power tools.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and multiple projects.
  • Good problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, project managers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Natural leadership skills and the ability to take ownership without needing constant direction.
  • Comfortable working with computers, email, and schedules.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Must be able to pass a drug and background screening.
Preferred Experience
  • Commercial tenant improvement projects.
  • Architectural millwork or custom commercial cabinetry.
  • Previous experience leading a shop, production team, or installation crew.
  • CNC experience.
  • Experience coordinating countertop/stone vendors.
  • Experience managing production schedules and material inventory.
  • Experience working directly with commercial project managers and jobsites.
Schedule
  • Monday-Friday
  • Full-time
  • Occasional overtime may be required based on project schedules.
Pay & Benefits

$30-$40 per hour, based on experience and skill level.

  • Paid holidays
  • Paid vacation
  • Opportunity for advancement
Why BAMF?

This isn't a position where you're expected to sit behind a desk and tell other people what to do.

You'll be building, installing, solving problems, and leading the team while helping shape how BAMF's shop and installation operations run.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, sees what needs to be done, and takes ownership of getting it done right.
