Summary/Objective

IMS is currently seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Shop Helper. The incumbent will work as a paint helper to paint the interior and exterior of structures and other surfaces. This job is very important since good painting has both practical and aesthetic benefits.

This is a full-time position and a fantastic opportunity to earn competitive pay and full-time benefits.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Follow written and oral instructions as assigned.
• Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary.
• Paint surfaces according to the instructions with various tools.
• Apply varnish and other finishes.
• Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions.
• Keep the general work area clean, organized, and free of trash and clutter.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.
• Maintain excellent knowledge of painting materials and how to select, mix, and apply them.
• Use commercial painting techniques effectively.
• Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking gun, etc.).
• Possess good basic math skills.
• Demonstrate manual dexterity and balance to work on scaffolding, ladders, etc.
• Be conscientious with great attention to detail.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Manufacturing experience is a plus.
