Job summary

Communication Data Link is seeking a Shop Foreman Mechanic to lead the shop floor, supervise technicians, ensure quality control, and maintain a safe, efficient working environment.

You will oversee repairs across brakes, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and diesel systems, train staff, review work orders, and coordinate with management on plans and parts.

This is a full-time, in-person role based in Des Moines, IA with relocation required prior to starting.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License; able to drive company vehicles.
• Mechanical experience required, 3+ years.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the shop operations with repairs.
• Supervise and manage technicians and mechanics by providing guidance, support and training as needed.
• Be able to work on all systems; including brake, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel systems.
• Ensure that work is performed in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
• Monitor and review the progress of work orders, ensuring deadlines are met and issues addressed.
• Conduct regular inspections of work in progress and completed repairs for quality and accuracy.
• Consult with equipment manufacturers as needed to assist with repairs.
• Maintain complete service records on applicable equipment via Fleet Management software.
• Prepare work orders and cost estimates on all projects that will require Owner's permission prior to repairing.
• Communicate diagnoses to management to develop a repair plan and parts acquisition as needed.
• Stay on top of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices, continuously enhancing knowledge and skills to improve shop operations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
