Job summary

Fowler Volkswagen in Norman, OK is seeking a Shop Foreman to lead our service team with a strong Volkswagen background. You will supervise technicians, schedule work, and ensure efficient repair orders while maintaining excellent customer service.

Candidates must have five or more years of VW experience, Master Certified status, and a valid driver's license. You will coordinate parts, manage safety standards, and help advance dealer service operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years Volkswagen experience.
• Master Certified.
• Valid Driver's License and MVR acceptable to insurance carrier.

As our new shop foreman, you will aid in directing activities related to the service and repair of client vehicles, coordinate the acquisition of automotive equipment, and keep our operations and maintenance facilities in top working order.Job ResponsibilitiesImplements and maintains an effective dispatch system.Schedules shop work to facilitate maximum productivity in accordance with dealership policy and the technician skill level required.Prioritizes and controls all comebacks to ensure proper and prompt attention.Reviews job status frequently, logging status and reporting any change in time or cost estimates to the appropriate service advisor and/or customer.Ensures that technicians follow warranty material disposition procedures.Maintains timely and professional contact with service customers.Maintains an organized and up-to-date repair log.Reviews hard copies of repair orders turned in by technicians to ensure that assigned work has been performed and the repair order has been completed properly.Schedules maintenance for service department vehicles and equipment.Prepares a list of needed service department equipment, supplies and required repairs, and reviews with the service manager as needed.Coordinates parts requirements with the parts department-contacting special order parts customers immediately upon receipt of parts orders to schedule appointment.Advises parts manager and service manager of repetitive shortage so that corrective action can be taken.Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings.Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean.
