Job summary

APEX Placement and Consulting is partnering with an established plastics manufacturer to hire a Midnight Shift Working Foreman for a brand-new night shift in Sterling Heights, MI. This hands-on leadership role requires strong injection molding experience and the ability to supervise a growing team on the night shift.

You will oversee setup, operation, troubleshooting, and monitoring of molding equipment, while training and developing staff as the shift expands and production scales.

Qualifications

• Previous injection molding experience is required.
• Previous lead, Foreman, or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of injection molding processes and equipment.
• Comfortable working with polyurethane molding.
• Experience working with aluminum tooling is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with molding products such as industrial dunnage is a plus.
• Ability and willingness to work alongside the production team.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead, train, and motivate employees.
• Dependable and comfortable helping establish a new shift from the ground up.
• Strong commitment to quality and workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a working Foreman, providing hands-on support while supervising midnight shift operations
• Lead a team that will grow to include up to 12 Machine Operators, 1 Material Handler, 1 Quality Control team member, and 1 Floor Person
• Assist with the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and monitoring of injection molding equipment
• Support operators with molding issues and production concerns
• Monitor production to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety standards are maintained
• Coordinate workflow and employee assignments throughout the shift
• Work closely with Quality Control and Material Handling to keep production running efficiently
• Assist with training and developing new employees as the shift expands
• Oversee the proper shutdown of operations at the end of the production week
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized manufacturing environment
• Communicate production issues, staffing concerns, and equipment needs to management

Looking for an opportunity to help build and lead a brand-new manufacturing shift? APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an established plastics manufacturer seeking an experienced Midnight Shift Working Foreman to join their team.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who has strong injection molding experience and enjoys working alongside their team. The midnight shift is new and will initially operate with a skeleton crew, with plans to grow the team as production needs increase.
