Description
- Responsible for maintaining a safe environment for employees and visitors
- Understand and enforce safety rules and requirements, including PPE equipment and supplies
- Train, guide and support Heavy Equipment Technicians and additional service personnel in safe practices
- Assist Service Manager in accident/ incident investigations
- Assist Service Manager in recruiting Heavy Equipment Technicians as needed to maintain adequate staff
- Responsible for training Heavy Equipment Technicians and additional Service Department personnel on companies’ standard operational procedures
- Assists with the assignment of work orders to Heavy Equipment Technicians and additional Service Department personnel according to their skill set and knowledge
- Assists in the evaluation of work orders coming into the Service Department by reviewing work orders for accuracy and completeness
- Directs and assists Heavy Equipment Technicians in the diagnosis of equipment
- Responsible for maintaining a diverse “ready line” of heavy equipment and specialty attachments
- Oversee functions and personnel within the Wash Rack area
- Advises Service Manager of all customer complaints
- Coordinates and schedules all in-house technician training
- Assists the Service Manager with coordinating and conducting safety meetings
- May fill the Service Manager role in their absence
- May approve the release of equipment for delivery to the customer
- May assist in providing performance feedback for service technicians and staff to the Service Manager
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form
- Comply with government safety and regulation requirements
- Comply with BLE safety and regulation requirements
- Assist with special projects and cover for multiple positions when staffing levels are low or operating demands are accelerated
- Perform other duties as requested

Education, Skills & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction and heavy equipment industry as a Mechanic or Field Technician required
- Management or Supervisory experience preferred
- Proficient in Wynne System and Microsoft Office including: Word and Excel
- Knowledge of frequently used Sales and Customer Relations Concepts, Practices and Procedures
