Qualifications

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assign work in a productive manner to achieve quality repairs and ensure that the estimated time of repair (ETR) is met.
  • Maintain constant and accurate communication with Service Writers and the Lead Uptime Technician.
  • Assist the Lead Uptime Technician to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Minimize customer wait times on new truck arrivals.
  • Work with the Lead Uptime Technician during quality control to minimize reworks, comebacks, and customer dissatisfaction.
  • Challenge technicians with assigned work and coach them, recommending training and discipline as needed.
  • Supervise technician trainees directly.
  • Provide technical support to technicians and management.
  • Follow customer contact and communication policies.
  • Adhere to all Nextran policies and procedures, including "Nextran’s Pledge to Customers."
  • Gather quality control feedback for coaching.
  • Assist with heavy diagnostic jobs.
  • Notify the Service Manager of broken tools and unsafe conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on departmental needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of seven years of heavy-duty truck mechanical experience.
  • Three to five years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to understand financial information related to dealership operations.
  • High School Diploma; college or technical training preferred but not mandatory.
  • Valid CDL license is a plus but not required.
