Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or work objectives.
• Ability to effectively plan work procedures, equipment, material, and manpower needs.
• Ability to effectively build and lead a productive work group and to perform as a member of a management team.
• Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Directs the activities of a group or team of shop employees involved in production, repair, or material handling to meet quality, safety, and cost objectives.
• Supervises hourly employees, welders, painters, plant clerks, etc., and coordinates with engineers and QA inspectors.
• Determines work procedures, equipment and supplies needed, and manpower requirements to complete assignments per production drawing.
• Monitors work processes and products to ensure standards are met.
• Coordinates with other phases of operation to meet schedules and obtain materials and equipment.
• Ensures equipment is properly handled, maintained and secured.
