Job summary

Smiths Group's John Crane division seeks a Branch Operations Supervisor to lead the shop's shipping, receiving, seal repair, assembly and machining efforts in the United States. You will drive workflow, supervise personnel, manage procurement and inventory, and ensure delivery performance to customers.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent experience, 3+ years in operations, 2+ years supervisory experience, and knowledge of machining and MRP-based manufacturing systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or experience equivalent to a four-year college education.
• 3+ years of experience in operations and distribution.
• 2+ years’ supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of machining and integrated business and manufacturing systems operations involving MRP.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shipping, receiving, seal repair, assembly, procurement and machining operations.
• Supervise, train, interview, hire and evaluate staff; manage performance appraisals.
• Profit & loss responsibility for the assigned shop.
• Handle inquiries on pricing, delivery dates, and change orders.
• Ensure inventory control and optimize supplier parts and pricing.
• Maintain safe working practices and enforce EHS requirements.
