Job summary

ANDRITZ in Ruston, LA is seeking a Shop Lead for swing shift to guide fabrication teams during the 3:30 PM–2:00 AM window. You will ensure timely delivery to customers, oversee daily/weekly goals, and assist with shop scheduling to keep reports and schedules current.

The role requires 5+ years in fabrication/production, strong math and computer skills, and a commitment to a safe work environment. Prior steel manufacturing leadership is a plus.

Qualifications

• Education, Licenses, & Certifications: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in fabrication, production, assembly, or a related manufacturing environment.
• Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate material requirements and measure part tolerances accurately.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adjust to changing priorities.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to interact professionally and positively with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated commitment to supporting and maintaining a safe working environment.
• Experience in steel manufacturing.
• Prior leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct workers to priorities to manage workflow.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Train employees in operating fabrication tooling and equipment.
• Update Fabrication/Production Manager on production and scheduling issues.
• Maintain schedule with priorities and special needs addressed.
• Work with quality control to address job priorities and maintain high quality.
• Operate and maintain stations to assemble, align, and adjust fabricated parts per specs.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to assemble units.
• Test and calibrate parts to ensure tolerances and quality standards.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned, serviced, and stored after each shift.
• Demonstrate safe working practices and promote 8 Life-Saving Rules.
• Promote the ANDRITZ values and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
