Job summary

Kokosing in Greenfield, IN is seeking a hands-on Yard and Shop support teammate to assist the Greenfield yard and shop, and to support job sites as needed. The role requires mechanical aptitude and a hands-on learning approach, working under a shop superintendent and, at times, a field supervisor.

This is a full-time position, Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with some overtime. Responsibilities include loading/unloading trucks, moving materials, inventorying tools, maintaining equipment, and

Qualifications

• Must have driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must be 18+ years old at start date.
• Full-time schedule Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with a half-hour lunch.
• Some overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks.
• Distribute received materials from job sites to storage locations.
• Use independent judgment to maximize materials and equipment utilization.
• Inventory and report tools and equipment entering and leaving the yard.
• Clean and recondition tools, trailers, and equipment returned to the yard.
• Perform minor repairs or maintenance on medium-sized tools.
• Inspect and route equipment or tools for removal from service.
• Complete job site assignments under supervision (pre-assembly of piping systems, building access stairs, building light wood formwork).
• Travel to job sites for assistance as needed.
• Keep shop and yard area clean and organized.
• Assist with office renovation projects.

Job Description

The role of this individual would be a support role to the Greenfield, Indiana Yard and Shop needs along with supporting job site specific needs. The individual would need to have a hands-on learning approach and already have some mechanical aptitude. The individual will work under direction of a shop superintendent and at times a field superintendent depending upon the assigned tasks.

Requirements

• Driver's license and mode of transportation
• Must be the age of 18 prior to the start work date
• Full time from Monday through Friday typically 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a half hour lunch
• Some over time may be required

Work Activities

• Loading and unloading trucks.
• Distributing received materials form job sites to designated storage locations.
• Utilizes independent judgment to ensure maximum utilization of materials and equipment.
• Inventory and reporting of company tools and equipment that come in and out of the yard.
• Cleaning and reconditioning of tools, trailers and equipment that is returned to the yard.
• Minor repair or maintenance of medium sized tools (i.e. small pumps, small generators, etc.).
• Inspection of and routing of equipment or tools that need removed from service.
• Completion of job site assignments under direct supervision (i.e. pre-assembly of piping systems, building access stairs, building light wood formwork).
• Travel to job sites for assistance as needed.
• General cleaning and organization of the shop and yard area.
• Assistance with office renovation projects.
