Strongest candidates include degree holding auto mechanics and technicians with a hobbyist level interest in aerial drones, microcontrollers, and automation, with professional experience in automotive drivability diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting. Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform initial assembly, inspections, and checks on karts prior to opening.
- Schedule, organize, and perform preventive maintenance on karts and service equipment.
- Complete and record all ride safety inspections in accordance with state or local government requirements.
- Perform all kart manufacturer recommended inspections as required on a daily, weekly, and yearly basis.
- Maintain, monitor, and report fleet performance on an ongoing basis to facility management via daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly assessments of fleet status and condition.
- Keep accurate documentation of inspections, repairs, parts inventory, and labor hours.
- Responsibly maintain shop tools and equipment.
- Ensure that the kart shop, service facilities, and work areas remain clean and tidy.
- Perform specific shop cleaning and maintenance duties as needed or assigned.
- Verify safe and proper operation of karts and equipment by facility staff.
- Perform closing duties nightly to secure shop and equipment and prepare for following day operations.
Essential Job Functions
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.

- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to deal with and solve practical problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

- Ability to use data to anticipate and prevent failures in equipment during operation.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write clearly with high school level spelling and grammar.
- Ability to direct, instruct, and convey verbal and written commands.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program is preferred.
- Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification is preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills are required.
