Job summary

Bragg Companies in Long Beach, CA is hiring a Shop Attendant to support the shop and Fuel Island operations. You will perform cleaning duties, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and assist with waste disposal and oil handling.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to pass a pre-employment drug test. Authorized to work in the US. Forklift certification may be provided by Bragg.

Responsibilities

• Clean shop floors using a floor cleaning machine.
• Keep shop and fuel island areas free of debris and fluids.
• Empty trash and rag cans; dispose of hazardous waste labels.
• Drain used oil and store in provided barrels; return to storage area.
• Follow safety procedures and work with minimal supervision.

Under the supervision of the Shop Manager, the Shop Attendant will perform specific tasks associated with the cleaning of the shop and Fuel Island.

Core Duties

• Use a floor cleaning machine to clean bay floors.
• Keep the shop and fuel island areas clear of debris and fluids.
• Keep trash cans and soiled rag cans emptied.
• Place empty aerosol cans in provided bins for proper disposal.
• Keep drain oil pans emptied into used oil tank and returned to storage area.
• Ensure that all labels for hazardous waste containers are visible and properly completed.
• Check that all used filters are drained and stored in provided used filter barrels.
• Drain all used oil container barrels
• Be self-directed and perform job functions as needed.

Skills And Experience Required

• Possess good communication skills – oral & written
• Able to work well with co-workers, vendors, and customers, etc.
• Physically able use tools needed to perform daily tasks, lift at least 50 lbs, work in a changing environment and to perform your duties in a safe manner.
• Operate a 5K forklift. The company will certify you.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Other Requirements

• Must be a minimum of 21 yrs. Old.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test.
• Authorized to work in the US.

Physical Demands

• Physically able to do the tasks described, lift at least 50 lbs. and work safely.
• Use their hands to handle equipment, arms, legs and back to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, sweeping and moping.
• Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on time of year.
• Prolonged periods of working, standing, sitting and driving.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.

Pay Rate: $21.01 per hour
