Job Opportunity: Shop Assistant at Davis-Ulmer

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Shop Assistant for our Liverpool, NY location. The role involves assisting in the delivery of tools and materials to job sites and maintaining the shop.

Job Summary:

As a Shop Assistant, your responsibilities include:

• Ensuring material availability for the shop
• Preparing jobs according to fabrication lists or instructions
• Operating shop equipment and machinery safely
• Reporting discrepancies to management
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Assisting the Shop Foreman as needed
• Testing and maintaining fire extinguishers (preferred experience)

Qualifications and Experience:

• Strong mathematical skills, including reading tape measures and adding/subtracting fractions
• Effective communication, organizational, reading, and time management skills
• High School Diploma or GED
• Two years of shop experience is a plus

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

• Valid driver's license

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Climbing ladders up to 6 feet
• Lifting up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Experience operating a forklift (preferred)
• Working outdoors in all seasons

Compensation:

Hourly wage: $18.00 per hour
