Job Overview

The Shop Assistant position is an entry-level learning position fashioned to introduce and develop skills and practices involved with the Remote Television Production environment. Through hands on experience and on the job instruction, the candidate can develop a foundation in the TV Production business.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with moving, tracking and installing cabling, equipment, hardware etc...
  • Assist in keeping the warehouse and workshop in an orderly, clean and safe condition.
  • Assist with packaging, shipping and receiving of equipment and supplies.
  • Load and unload broadcast gear and supplies on production trucks.
  • Assist with the safe set up and closing of mobile production trucks.
  • Assist engineering team in cleaning and maintenance of mobile production trucks.
  • Work with Shop Supervisor to develop the skills to do minor maintenance on cabling and equipment.
  • Run errands when necessary
  • Assist with other projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Organized, hardworking, self-starter with a desire to learn.
  • Basic maintenance knowledge and familiarity with hand tools.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to be on call during evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have a valid driver license in good standing (the company will run an MVR Check).
