Job summary

Scheels in Sparks, NV is seeking a Shoe Runner to support our fast-paced retail team. You will assist in the Men's, Women's, and Youth shoe areas, greet customers, and help maintain a welcoming shopping environment.

As a member of our team, you will be organized, reliable, and able to work with others to ensure accurate inventory and efficient service. Evening and weekend availability is often required to fit store hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1-3 months of sales experience.
• Must treat co-workers, customers and partners with respect with eye contact and a friendly greeting.
• Willing to work varied hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Able to work on the sales floor and in support roles as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Men's, Women's, and Youth shoe areas.
• Select shoes from backstock and place them in the staging area.
• Return unpurchased shoes to correct backstock areas.
• Assist Customer Service with shoe return processing.
• Keep the product organized and maintain inventory records.
• Provide a warm, welcoming interaction with customers.
• Maintain a smooth flow of service and minimize wait times.
• Demonstrate professionalism and team collaboration.
• Follow Scheels' policies and procedures.
• May be assigned additional tasks by leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in Men's, Women's, and Youth shoe areas

Be proactive in communicating with the Specialty Shop Manager and team to understand the urgent needs in the area

• Select shoes from backstock and place them in the staging area for sales associates
• Return any unpurchased shoes to the correct areas in backstock
• Assist Customer Service with shoe return processing and return items to the sales floor
• Keep the product organized to eliminate clutter and maintain accurate inventory records
• Initiate a warm and welcoming interaction with customers, establishing a rapport and offering assistance, setting a positive tone for the customer's experience
• Maintaining a smooth flow of service to minimize wait times for customers
• Ability to be organized, multi-task, and maintain all aspects of the Shoe Runner role
• Ability to work independently and with the team
• Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively and promptly
• Ability to apply basic understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and or 1-3 months of sales experience

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation

Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
