Legacy Industries in Jefferson, LA is hiring 12 Shipyard Welders to join our Field Operations team in a fast-paced marine construction environment. The role emphasizes SMAW and FCAW with the ability to weld in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions to support shipbuilding and repairs on tugboats, push boats, and barges.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year experience as a shipyard welder.
• Ability to weld in flat, vertical, horizontal and overhead positions.
• Must pass a drug test and physical.
• Skill will be tested onsite; no specific education or certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Perform SMAW (Stick Welding) and FCAW (Wire Welding) in multiple positions (flat, vertical, horizontal, overhead).
• Join metal parts according to project blueprints and welding symbols.
• Operate safely in varied conditions including high places, confined spaces, and outdoor environments.
• Maintain awareness of safety hazards and uphold all shipyard safety procedures.
• Ensure weld quality meets project and industry standards.
• Follow job orders, blueprints, and supervisor instructions.
• Support overall production timelines during day or night shifts based on project demands.
