Job summary

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. is seeking a safety-oriented professional to support safety-related functions within our shipyards. The role involves evaluating and correcting potential safety issues while ensuring compliance with safety policies and regulations.

You will assist with safety orientations, drug testing after incidents, and the enforcement of PPE usage. A Shipyard Competent Person Certification is required, with First Aid/CPR training desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent plus one year of safety experience in a manufacturing or construction environment desired.
• Knowledge of ship terminology, safety, and OSHA regulations is desired.
• Shipyard Competent Person Certification is required. Completion of First Aid and CPR training desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist in safety-related functions within the shipyards.
• Identify and correct potential safety issues.
• Administer first aid as needed and conduct safety orientations.
• Administer post-accident/near-miss drug tests as required.
• Enforce use of PPE and safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
