Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED, or 5 years Maritime experience
• 1 year minimum work experience as a rigger in a shipyard environment or similar industry
• Willing to participate in on-the-job training for less experienced co-workers
• Thorough knowledge of equipment used in rigging operations, including lifting and moving equipment
• Knowledge of shipyard terminology such as general ship structure and vessel layout
• Thorough knowledge of USA Standard hand signals
• Able to add, subtract, multiply, divide and measure using metric system
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and present information clearly

Responsibilities

• Must be technically proficient in tasks, work processes, and safe use of rigging equipment
• Complete daily work assignments with signatures for work completion and quality
• Maintain cleanliness and organization on assigned job sites
• Select and utilize proper lifting gear and set up crane hoisting equipment
• Work any assigned shift and handle tasks outside normal craft assignments
• Monitor the job site for compliance with quality, safety, and environmental regulations
• Apply regulatory guidelines to tasks and resolve small problems on day-to-day work
