Job summary

Thames Shipyard and Repair is seeking a reliable shipyard rigger/outside machinist to join one of the largest commercial ship repair facilities between New York and Boston. Training may be provided. Benefits include Medical and Dental, 2 weeks vacation, and a 401K.

This is a full-time position based in New London, CT. Typical schedule runs Monday through Friday with overtime, including Saturdays and Sundays at double-time.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug test is required.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Willing and able to work outside year round and in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Removing Shafts, Rudders and Bearings.
• Working from scissor and boom lifts.
• Working in confined spaces with limited access through eighteen inch hatch.
• Climbing ladders.
• Heavy lifting.
