Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in North Kingstown, RI is seeking a Pipefitter to fabricate and install piping systems for shipboard applications. You will perform fit-up with various joint methods and work on hydraulic, steam, and water systems, ensuring compliance with inspections.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to work all shifts, and bring your own basic hand tools. Teamwork and safety are emphasized in a fast-paced shipyard environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or 2+ years of related technical experience.
• Ability to work all shifts and work at heights, in confined spaces, and at extreme temperatures.
• Own basic hand tools required to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and install piping systems for ship liquids and gases.
• Perform pipe fit-up with welded, brazed or mechanical joints.
• Work with hydraulic, lube oil, steam, sea water, and potable water systems.
• Prepare systems for inspections by Navy and Government authorities.
• Cut and fit piping using saws and pipe cutters; maintain cleanliness of components.
