Job summary

CORE Group in North Kingstown, RI is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to run the full material lifecycle for new vessel construction, from purchasing to delivery to the production floor. You will align with engineering, budgets, and build schedules, lead a hands-on team, and report progress with data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations, or supply chain, or comparable experience.
• Seven+ years in purchasing, planning, or material management, ideally in shipbuilding or defence programmes.
• Three+ years managing people across multiple disciplines.
• Expert-level Excel; comfortable with ERP/MRP for planning and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Own buying, scheduling, and material management teams; define goals and performance standards.
• Design workflows, staffing structure, and training for the department.
• Translate drawings and work packages into a coordinated procurement and kitting plan.
• Run day-to-day purchasing: requisitions, quotes, PO issuance, vendor follow-up; recordkeeping.
• Source and negotiate with suppliers; measure performance and accountability.
• Maintain visibility on orders, lead times, and schedule-critical items.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, production, quality, and finance to remove roadblocks.
• Oversee warehouse operations end-to-end: receiving, storage, and shipping.
