SJS Executives, LLC (SJS), also doing business as SJS Industrial, seeks a reliable Carpenter/Maintenance Mechanic to work full time in Kittery, supporting operations at a Naval Shipyard. Pay is $31.00/hr with robust benefits including holidays, sick leave, and employer-paid medical/dental/life insurance.

After 1 year, vacation days become available. The role involves diverse carpentry and maintenance tasks on federal property, requiring safety consciousness and the ability to interact

Qualifications

• 4+ years of carpentry experience.
• Ability to read building plans, blueprints, diagrams and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with hand tools and trade equipment.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Background check and drug test for access to a military installation.

Responsibilities

• Perform journey-level carpentry and maintenance on facilities, grounds and related structures.
• Install, repair, and maintain doors, frames, hardware and locks.
• Repair windows, glazing components and related building materials.
• Carry out roofing repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Install and finish interior/exterior surfaces and flooring components.
• Repair drywall and prep surfaces for painting and restoration.
• Prepare surfaces for painting and apply finishes and coatings.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and materials used.
• Operate hand and power tools safely in compliance with regulations.
• Identify and report facility deficiencies for corrective action.
