Job summary

Yancey Bros. Co. is seeking a Shipping Technician to work on the kitting team in a fast-paced, production-support role. You will perform inventory transactions, pick and kit materials, and help ensure timely delivery of production supplies.

The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and teamwork, with opportunities to support shipping/receiving and material handling while maintaining a clean, organized work area in a non-temperature-controlled environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year experience in a stockroom, warehouse, or kitting role preferred.
• Experience using barcode scanners and inventory control systems.

Responsibilities

• Pick and kit components for production according to kitting lists.
• Organize and label kits clearly according to procedures.
• Perform inventory transactions in the WMS during picking, kitting and return to stock.
• Deliver materials to the plant to support production.
• Identify and report shortages, discrepancies, or quality issues.
• Assist with shipping/receiving and prepare materials for returns or RMAs.
• Load and unload transfer and delivery trucks.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.

What You Will Be Doing:

As the Shipping Technician for Yancey Engineered Solutions, you will be working on the kitting team. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform inventory transactions in the WMS system during picking, kitting and return to stock, accurately pick and kit materials, putting inbound products in location, replenishing pick locations, cycle counting and keeping work area clean.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for accurately picking and kitting components required for production according to Kitting lists.
• Organize and label kits clearly according to procedures.
• Perform inventory transactions in the WMS system during picking, kitting and return to stock.
• Support production by delivering materials to the plant.
• Identify and report any material shortages, discrepancies, revisions errors, or quality issues.
• Assist with shipping/receiving when needed and prepare materials for supplier returns or RMA processes.
• Load and unloading of transfer and delivery trucks.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Participate in required safety program and work in a safe manner wearing all required PPE.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned by management

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Willing to work in moderate noise levels and a non-temperature-controlled environment.
• Ability to work independently and part as a team in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Good reading comprehension and numerical skills.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and processes.
• Standing, walking, bending, and repetitive hand motions are required.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ experience in a stockroom, warehouse, or kitting role, preferable in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and follow verbal instructions.
• Experience using barcode scanners and inventory control systems.
• Ability to lift to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
