Job summary

ASC Building Products in Spokane, WA is seeking a Shipping Team Member to manage the daily shipping and receiving flow. You will load and unload trucks, operate a forklift, and prepare trip sheets and loading papers while ensuring shipment accuracy in the ERP system.

You’ll verify orders, generate production reports, and coordinate with Transportation, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to ensure timely deliveries. Overtime may be required in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years shipping/receiving, manufacturing, or warehouse experience preferred.
  • 2 years material and document flow within a production system.
  • 2 years forklift experience; overhead crane experience a plus.
  • ERP/SAP experience preferred (3+ years).
  • Ability to operate forklift and manage truck loading paperwork.

Responsibilities

  • The organization and implementation of daily shipping and receiving flow.
  • Load and unload trucks; operate forklift safely.
  • Prepare truck loading papers from trip sheets.
  • Audit order accuracy prior to loading; verify shipments.
  • Complete shipping paperwork and maintain ERP records.
  • Enter quality results; generate production reports.
  • Interpret manifests, pick lists, and sales orders.
  • Handle loading papers and return receiving documents for resale items.
  • Support cross-functional packing and material handling as needed.

PRIMARY DUTIES
  • The organization and implementation of daily shipping and receiving flow.
  • Loading and unloading of trucks to maintain shipping and receiving flow while safely operating forklift.
  • Assemble necessary truck loading papers based on trip sheet from transportation.
  • Audit accuracy of material orders prior to loading trucks and verify shipment load accuracy.
  • Complete shipping paperwork and maintain accurate records in the ERP system.
  • Utilize computer system, enter quality results, and generate production reports.
  • Interprets manifests, pick lists, sales orders, and other shipping documentation.
  • Maintains knowledge of semi-truck weight capacities per axle and full truck load.
  • Receive and forward receiving documents for resale items to Operations Support.
  • Pull, package and label accessory parts for orders using pick lists.
  • Support production roles through cross functional training and position coverage (i.e. Packaging, Material Handling, & Machine Operation) as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
  • Minimum A high school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in shipping/receiving, manufacturing, or warehouse environment preferred.
  • 2 years experience in material and document flow within a production system.
  • 2 years of experience operating a forklift.
  • Assemble necessary truck loading papers based on trip sheet from transportation.
  • 1-2 years experience years of working with ERP systems.
  • Preferred 3+ years ERP/SAP experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience operating a forklift.
  • Loading and unloading of trucks to maintain shipping and receiving flow.
  • Experience operating an overhead crane.
  • Experience with shipping and material handling duties.
Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to operate electronic scanners, printers, and other similar equipment.
  • Attention to detail with orders, measurements, and documentation.
  • Clear communication both verbal and written.

  • Computer skills with Basic Microsoft office and ERP.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The manufacturing environment will require extended periods of time walking or standing. This position requires regularly moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds. The work environment is constrained to a standard, unconditioned warehouse, and production space. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to falling objects, floor hazards, machine hazards, and hazards associated with driving a forklift. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Special Requirements

Ability to work overtime.

Salary Range

This position's estimated hourly rate of pay is $22.50- $24.50. Actual base rate of pay will be dependent on an individual’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
