Job summary

Siemens in Grand Prairie is seeking a Shipping Supervisor for 2nd shift to lead a 5-10 person team.

You will own receiving, storage, inventory, and delivery to customers, coordinating with Manufacturing, Purchasing and Planning, and using SAP-WM. Strong leadership, shipment compliance, and Excel/MS Office skills are required. A bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in distribution, outbound shipping, and transportation management.
• High school Diploma or GED.
• Proven leadership skills in warehouse and logistics operations.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) with verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Manage receiving, storage, inventory, and delivery to customers and lead a team of 5–10.
• Interface daily with Manufacturing lines, Project Managers, and Carriers for LTL/FTL requirements.
• Ensure orders are processed safely and effectively for shipment with contracted carriers.
• Schedule and assign daily tasks; manage yard and dock operations.
• Execute SAP-WM transactions for daily shipping and material movement.

We are looking for Shipping Supervisor for 2nd Shift. This position will be based at our Grand Prairie facility.

You’ll make an impact by:

• Primary responsibilities include Receiving, Storage, Inventory management, Delivery to Customers and working closely with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Planning to support production while leading a team of 5-10 team members.
• Directly interfacing with Manufacturing lines, Project Managers, and Carriers on a daily basis in order to accommodate LTL and FTL requirements.
• Team’s ability to process customer orders safely and effectively [large high dollar equipment] for shipment with contracted carriers.
• Handling team schedules and daily assignments.
• Understanding and execution of SAP-WM transactions to perform daily shipping and material movement operations.
• Managing shipping functions, yard management, and dock operations.

Basic Qualifications:

• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in supply-chain management
• Lean, Six Sigma, Root Cause and/or Continuous Improvement skills (APICS/CPM Accreditation)
• SAP experience
