Description

Wood Systems Inc. is a leading provider of commercial millwork with a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. We strive to deliver exceptional products and services to our clients and as we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shipping Manager to join our team. As a Shipping Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating shipping and operations within the company. You will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of our products while maintaining the highest level of quality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of shipping associates, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure a high level of productivity and efficiency.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate the shipment of products, ensuring orders are processed and fulfilled accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Sales and Warehouse, to prioritize shipments and resolve any potential issues.
  • Continuously assess and improve shipping processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. Implement best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality control measures to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of shipping materials and supplies. Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure an adequate stock of shipping materials is available to meet demand.
  • Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and requirements. Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation, such as bills of lading.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to shipping operations. Generate regular reports to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and present findings to management.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally. Strive to provide exceptional customer service throughout the shipping process.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in shipping, logistics, or supply chain management, with a focus on managing shipping operations and coordinating shipments.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of motivating and developing a team.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficient in the use of shipping software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams, external vendors, and customers.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle unexpected situations in a fast-paced environment.
