Job summary

Phase2 Technology in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to oversee daily operations, ensure accuracy and safety, and lead the warehouse team.

This role blends hands-on duties with leadership, coordinating ERP (D365) usage, shipping documentation, and carrier communications while driving continuous improvement.

You will report to the Director of Operations and play a key role in maintaining compliant, efficient workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; leadership training preferred.
• 3–5 years in shipping/receiving, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (D365 preferred) and shipping software.

Job description

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor oversees daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role combines hands‑on responsibilities with leadership duties, including guiding team members, monitoring performance, and maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment. The Supervisor serves as the primary liaison between the Director of Operations and the Shipping and Receiving team, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company standards.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Management
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of shipping and receiving personnel.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Train team members on ERP systems, safety protocols, and shipping procedures.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment and resolve conflicts promptly.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate priorities and updates.
• Operational Responsibilities
  • Oversee accurate receiving of purchase orders into ERP (D365) and proper storage of finished goods.
  • Ensure correct packing, labeling, and documentation for all outgoing shipments (BOL, CI, packing lists).
  • Schedule pickups and manage carrier communications.
  • Verify shipping paperwork and compliance with ISO 13485 standards.
  • Operate forklifts and assist with loading/unloading as needed.
  • Maintain dock and warehouse organization.
• Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and address non‑conforming parts or packages.
  • Ensure adherence to safety rules and hazardous material handling procedures.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in shipping/receiving, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
