Orion Steel Group, L.L.C. is seeking a Shipping Supervisor for the Seamless Mill in Pueblo, Colorado.

You will oversee day-to-day manufacturing and quality operations, supervise an operational and quality team, and coordinate with the shipping department and railroad to manage truck and rail transfers. The role requires a BS or equivalent experience, 3 years of supervisory experience, and strong planning and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science Degree or equivalent experience.
• Three years of industrial supervisory experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word and Excel.
• Experience with Oracle, database development, statistical process control, process control, and automation technologies, and lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily mill inspections with an eye for safety and productivity issues; coordinate with mill support groups to design and implement countermeasures.
• Conduct shift safety meetings and daily toolbox talks; train employees on safe work practices; conduct daily safe job observations.
• Use LEAN tools to engage employees to continuously improve mill operations.
• Schedule and maintain shift manpower for mill operations and training.
• Manage an operational and quality team during manufacturing operations and maintenance of mechanical equipment.

We are seeking a Shipping Supervisor to join the Seamless Mill team located in Pueblo, Colorado. As a Shipping Supervisor, you will be responsible for all day-to-day manufacturing and quality operations on the seamless mill. This position reports directly to the General Supervisor for the Seamless Mill.

• Perform daily mill inspections with an eye for safety and productivity issues, coordinate with mill support groups to design and implement countermeasures
• Conduct shift safety meetings and daily toolbox talks, train employees on safe work practices, and conduct daily safe job observations
• Use LEAN tools from the Rocky Mountain Steel Business System to engage employees to continuously improve mill operations
• Schedule and maintain shift manpower for mill operations and training
• Responsible for managing an operational and quality team during manufacturing operations and while performing operational maintenance of mechanical equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Use quality standards to evaluate product conformance and troubleshoot quality issues promptly
• Maintain and correct electronic and written records including shift performance, heat traceability, and quality assurance
• Work with shipping department and railroad to manage truck and rail transfers

Requirements

• Bachelor's of Science Degree or equivalent experience
• Three years of industrial supervisory experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word and Excel
• Experience with Oracle, database development, statistical process control, process control, and automation technologies, and lean manufacturing principles
• Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills
• Proven ability to organize and motivate production teams for safe, high-quality results and maximum productivity
• Proven ability to professionally communicate with all levels of personnel, in written and verbal forms
• Demonstrated initiative to identify areas, propose and initiate solutions
