Job summary

IES is seeking a Shipping Supervisor in Canton, OH to lead Shipping, Receiving, and Material Handling within the Materials department. You will drive on-time material movement, coordinate production priorities, and oversee warehouse workflows to support production goals.

The role requires a High School diploma and five years in a similar production setting, plus experience with forklifts, cranes, and safety programs such as PPE, GHS, and Lockout/Tagout.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in a comparable production environment.
• Experience operating tow motor, overhead crane, and other machinery.
• Proficiency with PPE, GHS, and Lock Out- Tag Out procedures.
• Willingness to train on OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations in Shipping, Receiving, & Material Handling.
• Collaborate with Department Leads regarding production priorities and material requirements.
• Monitor progress and status of jobs on the priorities list.
• Maintain workflow schedules to ensure timely material movement and production support.
• Guide, coach, and develop employees while monitoring productivity and performance.
• Ensure inventory is organized, accurate, and stored to maximize space utilization.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and material shortages.
• Promote and enforce adherence to safety policies, procedures, and standards.
• Maintain housekeeping and organization standards throughout warehouse and storage areas.
• Enter and track employee attendance in ADP; administer disciplinary actions when needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work towards daily objectives as assigned by Operations Manager
• Collaborate with Department Leads regarding production priorities and material requirements.
• Monitor progress and status of jobs on the priorities list
• Maintain workflow schedules to ensure timely material movement and production support.
• Guide, coach, and develop employees while monitoring productivity and performance.
• Ensure inventory is organized, accurate, and stored in a manner that maximizes space utilization and efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and material shortages.
• Promote and enforce adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and company standards.
• Maintain housekeeping and organization standards throughout warehouse and material storage areas.
• Conduct annual employee evaluations and provide ongoing performance feedback.
• Enter and track employee attendance in ADP
• Administer disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies.
