Job summary

Amrize in Kernersville, NC, is hiring a Shipping Associate to join our shipping department. This hourly role features weekly pay and a team-focused environment with opportunities for advancement.

You will read and interpret bills of lading, pick/pack/ship orders, verify goods before packaging, and operate forklifts and related equipment. Candidates must pass pre-employment checks and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Able to work in a team and have initiative to get the job done.
• Must be able to pass a pre-hire drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Bend, push, carry, lift up to 50 pounds.
• Available to work up to a 12-hour shift and weekends when necessary.
• Extensive forklift experience preferred.
• Adhere to safety protocols and wear Amrize PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret Bills of Lading.
• Pick orders accurately using the pick/pack/ship system.
• Verify goods before packaging and follow SOPs.
• Ensure accuracy and condition of parts before shipments.
• Operate forklift, hi-low, and pallet jack.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Duro-Last Roofing has an opening in their shipping department. All hourly employees receive WEEKLYPAY! This position is located in Kernersville, NC and offers a great working environment, excellent benefitsand opportunities for advancement.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Ability to read and interpret Bill of Ladings
• Pick orders with accuracy using pick, pack, ship system (production part, stockroom parts, rolled goods,etc.)
• Verify manufactured goods are correct prior to packaging and follow all packaging standard operatingprocedures
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of parts prior to shipments leaving
• Operate various types of material handling equipment including a forklift, hi-low, and pallet jack –frequently getting on and off of forklift to retrieve product
• Keep work area clean and neat to ensure there are no safety hazards and that the area is presentable forguests
• Using a scanner and tablet to work with in the pick, pack, ship system to send complete and accurateorders to customers
• Assist production team by transporting raw material and finished goods
• All other duties as assigned
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
