Job summary

Enerflex Ltd in Houston, TX is seeking a Warehouse Shipping Associate to perform routine duties such as consolidating and preparing project components, loading/unloading materials for shipment, and maintaining shipping paperwork. The role requires forklift operation, data verification, and safe handling of items in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include processing shipping orders, packing, and coordinating with various teams.

Qualifications

  • Previous shipping and receiving experience preferred.
  • Basic math and dimension/weight calculation skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Able to operate light equipment, hand trucks and pallet jacks in a warehouse.
  • Valid Driver’s License and forklift certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Process requisitions, work orders, and shipping documents.
  • Load and unload materials; move items to shipping/receiving areas.
  • Verify shipments against drawings, BOMs, and orders.
  • Transfer materials between receiving, production, and shipping areas.
  • Operate forklift to transport items within the facility.
  • Prepare shipments and paperwork for domestic and international shipping.
  • Initiate restock of items as needed.
  • Maintain safety and 5-S standards.

Summary

Under direct supervision, the purpose of this position is to perform a variety of routine warehouse, shop, and yard duties including but not limited to, consolidating and preparing project re-assembly components, load / unload materials for shipment, maintain shipping supplies inventory, movement and distribution of goods and materials at the branch or from storage. Completes routine paperwork and documentation as required.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties
  • Processes requisitions, work orders and shipping orders and issues material to end users utilizing the
  • systems as defined by the company.
  • Manually lift and load materials into crates on pallets and off \ on trucks safely.
  • Compares identifying information, and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing
  • shipments to verify information against drawings, BOM’s, bills of lading, PO’s, orders, or other records.
  • Transfers materials and items from receiving or production areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
  • Drives company vehicle operates forklift to transport items from shop to shipping warehouse or storage as needed, as well as pick up items from storage as required.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined areas. Marks
  • material with identifying information.
  • Prepares shipments, work orders, or requests for materials, or other items and distributes items accordingly.
  • Initiate restock of items as necessary.
  • Uses computer and current shipping documents / programs to compile shipment data.
  • Assembles wooden or cardboard crates / cartons or selects pre-assembled crates.
  • Prepare product for domestic and international shipping using proper packing techniques to insure safe
  • arrival of goods and products.
  • Determines best method of disassembly with components and materials for packing / shipping.
  • Takes an active part in safety processes with maintaining the 5-S methods.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Other duties as assigned by Shipping Lead

Qualifications
  • Previous shipping and receiving experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of drawings and diagrams.
  • Must possess math aptitude necessary to do shipping dimension / weight calculations.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook preferred.
  • Able to operate a variety of light equipment, hand trucks and pallet jacks within a warehouse environment.
  • Requires Valid Driver’s License, receive and maintain forklift certification.
  • Good customer service skills; displays a professional can-do attitude.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Maintain daily equipment inspections.
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
  • Overtime may be required as business need requires.
Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and
  • stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee
  • must regularly lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The
  • employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is
  • occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work
  • environment is sometimes loud.
