Job summary

Corporate Interiors in Delaware is seeking a Shipping Specialist to prepare millwork products for safe, accurate shipments to job sites and customers. Under supervision from the Production Manager, you will coordinate with production and other departments to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and hands-on experience with inventory and shipping processes. You will operate pallet jacks and forklifts, wrap and label shipments, and maintain

  • Excellent written, technical and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Review work orders and packing lists to determine shipment requirements.
  • Locate, gather, and prepare finished millwork products for shipment.
  • Verify items against documentation to ensure correct products and quantities.
  • Inspect products for damage prior to shipment.
  • Package and label shipments clearly for delivery and installation.
  • Stage shipments and assist with loading trucks safely.
  • Maintain shipping documentation and coordinate with departments on deadlines.
  • Operate pallet jacks, forklifts and other material-handling equipment following safety procedures.

Description

Under general supervision from the Production Manager, the Shipping Specialist, CIM is responsible for preparing completed millwork products for safe, accurate, and timely shipment to job sites and customers.

Essential Functions

  • Review work orders, packing lists, drawings, and other documentation to determine products and materials required for each shipment.
  • Locate and gather completed millwork products and associated materials for scheduled shipments.
  • Verify products against work orders, packing lists, and project documentation to ensure the correct items, quantities, finishes, and components are included.
  • Inspect finished products for visible damage, defects, or discrepancies prior to shipment.
  • Report missing, damaged, incorrect, or incomplete products to the appropriate department before the shipment leaves the facility.
  • Organize products by project, job site, delivery sequence, or installation requirements.
  • Build and organize skids, pallets, carts, or other shipping units to prepare products for transportation.
  • Properly wrap, pad, strap, protect, and secure millwork products to minimize the risk of damage during loading, transportation, and unloading.
  • Label products and packages clearly and accurately for delivery and installation.
  • Ensure loose hardware, accessories, components, and other job‑specific materials are properly packaged and included with the correct shipment.
  • Stage completed shipments in designated areas according to the delivery or pickup schedule.
  • Assist with loading trucks and ensure products are loaded in a safe and organized manner.
  • Complete and maintain accurate shipping documentation.
  • Coordinate with production and other departments regarding missing products, incomplete orders, shipping priorities, and upcoming deadlines.
  • Maintain an organized and clean shipping and staging area.
  • Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material‑handling equipment as required and when properly trained.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and safe material‑handling practices.
  • Assist with inventory, receiving, material movement, and other warehouse or shop responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma /GED preferred.
  • Previous inventory and shipping & receiving experience.
  • Excellent communication skills: written, technical and verbal.
  • Assertive, flexible and displays a strong sense of urgency.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
