Job summary

Kronospan USA seeks a Shipping Supervisor to lead the Shipping/Receiving and Warehouse Order Processor teams, establishing training plans and ensuring on-time delivery, safety and quality.

You will direct daily operations, manage personnel, coordinate transport, and maintain accurate records, reporting to the Logistics Manager. This role requires supervisory experience and strong computer skills, with growth opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED; bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years direct experience in production or process in industrial manufacturing.
  • 5+ years in a supervisory/leadership role.
  • Proficient in KSoft and Microsoft Office; good verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Shipping/Receiving and Warehouse Order Processor teams; establish, implement, and monitor training plans and goals.
  • Direct daily operations; schedule personnel; ensure on-time delivery and safety compliance.
  • Coordinate transportation modes; process shipping documents; maintain accurate records.

Main duties and responsibilities
JOB PURPOSE:

The primary responsibility of the Shipping Supervisor is to effectively lead the Shipping / Receiving and Warehouse Order Processor teams by establishing, implementing, and monitoring training plans, goals of the organization, shipping requirements, processes, on-time delivery, safety and quality. This includes shipping of manufactured products, receiving products, receiving supplies, and maintaining accurate records. Provides direction with regard to equipment, processes and company goals in conjunction with the Logistics Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Completes daily schedule by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on production summaries.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action
  • Provide leadership and day-to-day direction for the Shipping team ensuring team members are aware of their expectations in each specific role.
  • Provide formal and informal performance feedback, while also leading by example; this includes technical knowledge, initiative, attitude, drive, attendance, professionalism and overall leadership, as well as other areas identified by the Logistics Manager and Human Resources.
  • Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
  • Issue written and oral instructions to assigned personnel; assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the transportation modes.
  • Process shipping documents including Bill of Lading, Custom Invoices and Tally Sheets.
  • Provide support for inventories, reconciles shipments, processes freight claims, maintains files and records related to the sales and transportation departments.
  • Coordinate all day-to-day operations and projects in conjunction with the Logistics Manager. Serve as a back-up to other positions as necessary
  • Help identify opportunities for continuous improvement and work inter-departmentally to implement new ideas
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D. / Bachelor's Degree in Business or similar field preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum seven (7) years direct experience in production or process in industrial manufacturing
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in a supervisory/leadership role
  • Mid-level to Advanced Computer Skills including KSoft and Microsoft Suite
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptionally self-motivated and directed.
  • Excellent attendance record
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: Activities and Safety Equipment
  • Face shield/goggles, dust mask/respirator, and high visibility vest occasionally required up to 1/3 of time.
  • Walking, climbing, lifting, push/pulling, reaching, bending, and written communication, frequently required 1/3 to ½ of time.
  • Seeing, hearing, sitting, standing, dexterity, verbal communication, ear plugs, hard hat and safety glasses continuously required 2/3 or more of time
