Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Lake Orion, Michigan is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Technician for the 2nd shift (3:00pm–11:30pm) on a 3–6 month contract. You will pick and package daily shipments and maintain inventory records. You will assist in shipping, receiving and production control, train coworkers, and ensure accurate documentation.

Proficiency with forklifts and forklift safety is required. The role requires a high school diploma and 1–2+ years in shipping/receiving, with ability to lift 40 lbs

Qualifications

• Experience in the automotive industry preferred.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs and operate forklift/hi-lo.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain accurate inventories

Shipping & Receiving Technician (2nd Shift) - Lake Orion, Michigan

3-6 month contract position

Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour

Second Shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm

Position Summary

Pick and package daily shipments and knowledge of inventories. Process all papers, daily schedules and documents to perform duties. Keep accurate records of inventories. Assist in all areas of shipping, receiving, and production control when necessary.

Roles and Responsibilities

Help maintain accurate inventories Assist the audit of shippers for any changes to be made Audit all outgoing and incoming shipments Help with any customer service inquiries and follow-ups Train all coworkers in all aspects of shipping and receiving, when necessary Stage all shipments accurately Prepare shipments according to customer requirements Drive a forklift and/or hi-lo Ship by following the \"First-In/First-Out - FIFO) procedure\" Receive all shipments accurately Record and input daily all receiving information Maintain a clean and organized warehouse Unload and load all delivering carriers Responsible for stock storage in the warehouse Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent 1-2+ years experience working in shipping/receiving

Able to drive and operate a forklift and hi-lo Good computer skills Good oral and written communication skills Experience working in the automotive industry Able to lift 40lbs. Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and walking Able to climb portable ladders
