Job summary

American Axle & Mfg., Inc. seeks a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to lead daily shipping/receiving at the Bowling Green, OH plant and drive safe, efficient operation. You will supervise a team, coordinate inbound and outbound freight, and ensure compliance with all applicable policies and quality standards.

The role emphasizes continued process improvement, accurate inventory handling, and adherence to safety guidelines to support production schedules and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, forklift operator experience required.
• 2+ years supervising production staff or equivalent leadership experience.
• Ability to work first shift hours, including weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities, including inbound/outbound freight, material handling, and inventory control.
• Supervise, train, and develop a team of shipping/receiving personnel, including performance management, scheduling, and task delegation.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards within the shipping/receiving department.
• Supervise sorting, staging, and inventory handling operations to support production and customer requirements.
• Ensure shipping and receiving equipment is operated and maintained according to procedures; coordinate repairs and maintain supplies.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and organized work environment by enforcing safety policies and addressing hazards.
• Collect, analyze, and report shipping/receiving performance metrics to support continuous improvement.
• Support inventory accuracy through proper documentation and record retention practices.
• All other duties as assigned.
