You will lead the Shipping Department to meet safety, production, quality and attendance goals, coach staff, and drive continuous improvement using lean tools. Responsibilities include coordinating pickup and packing, issuing work orders, ensuring on-time shipment with KPI tracking, and maintaining timekeeping accuracy.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in manufacturing shipping/logistics leadership role.
• 18, strong interpersonal and coaching skills; experience coaching and developing staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities of employees responsible for picking product and preparing it for same day shipping.
• Identify work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
• Issue written and oral work instructions.
• Examine work for accuracy, neatness and conformance to company policy and procedures.
• Study and standardize departmental procedures to improve efficiency.
• Maintain harmony among hourly employees and resolve workplace grievances.
• Ensure correct shipment of orders by using KPI techniques, scanners and pick lists.
• Responsible for safety and housekeeping of area of responsibility.
• Monitor pullers and loaders to ensure productivity meets daily demands.
• Assist employees with process work flow, product knowledge and safety concerns.
• Work with Maintenance Supervisor related to PM, repair and improvement of equipment and/or processes.
• Manage employee time and attendance in the timekeeping system, maintaining up-to-date records.
• Must be able to work scheduled shift as well as overtime and weekends as required.
