Job summary

Zone 5 Technologies in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to oversee inbound and outbound logistics in a defense aerospace manufacturing setting. You will ensure material traceability, regulatory compliance (AS9100, ITAR/EAR, DFARS), and on-time delivery of critical components.

Lead warehouse personnel, coordinate with production and quality teams, and maintain ERP/MRP transactions while enforcing safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of defense aerospace quality and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Costpoint, or Epicor.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily shipment of defense aerospace components, assemblies, and classified or controlled materials.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments with approved carriers and freight providers.
  • Oversee receipt, inspection, and verification of incoming aerospace materials, hardware, tooling, and documentation.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting, audits, and material reconciliation.
  • Lead and develop shipping and receiving personnel.

Position Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Supervisoris responsible foroverseeing all inbound and outboundlogisticsoperations within a defense aerospace manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with defense industry regulations, material traceability requirements, inventory accuracy, and on‑time delivery of mission‑critical components and assemblies. The supervisor leads warehouse personnel, coordinates with production and quality teams, and ensures adherence to AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, and government contracting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping Operations

  • Supervise daily shipment of defense aerospace components, assemblies, and classified or controlled materials
  • Ensure all outbound shipmentscomply withcustomer, military, and export control requirements
  • Review and approve packing lists, bills of lading, certifications, DD forms, and shipping documentation
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments with approved carriers and freight providers
  • Maintain strict chain-of-custody and traceability requirements for defense-related products
  • Monitor on-time delivery performance and resolve shipping discrepancies

Receiving Operations

  • Oversee receipt, inspection, and verification of incoming aerospace materials, hardware, tooling, and special processing documentation
  • Validate material certifications, Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), and traceability documentation
  • Coordinate receiving inspections with Quality Assurance and Supply Chain teams
  • Segregate and process non-conforming or suspect materials according to company procedures
  • EnsureaccurateERP/MRP system transactions and inventory updates

Inventory & Materials Management

  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting, audits, and material reconciliation
  • Control lot traceability, serialized inventory, shelf-life materials, and controlled storage requirements
  • Support production schedules throughaccuratematerial staging and kitting operations
  • Implement FIFO and material handling procedures
  • Ensure warehouse organization and efficient material flow

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with:
  • AS9100 quality management standards
  • ITAR/EAR export regulations
  • DFARS and government contract requirements
  • OSHA and environmental health & safety standards
  • Support internal, customer, and government audits
  • Maintain audit-readydocumentation and record retention systems
  • Enforce security procedures for controlled defense materials and data

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise, train, and develop shipping and receiving personnel
  • Assign daily workloads andmonitordepartment productivity
  • Conduct performance reviews and corrective actions as necessary
  • Promote continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and 5S initiatives
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and quality compliance

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GEDrequired;associate’s or bachelor’sdegree preferred
  • 5+ years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, orlogisticsexperience in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing
  • 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Knowledge of defense aerospace quality and compliance requirements
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Costpoint, or Epicor
  • Understanding ofinventory control and material traceability practices
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DoD, military, or government contracts
  • Familiarity with:
  • AS9100

  • NADCAP documentation requirements
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigmaexperience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability tolift upto 50 pounds
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and material handling
  • Ability tooperateforklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment
  • Work in warehouse and manufacturing environments with varying temperatures and noise levels

Pay range for this role

$66,000 - $94,500 USD
