Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Ensures all incoming and outgoing data is entered into the system. Verifies the destination of all incoming/outgoing products. Responsible for product billing, maintaining inventories, variance corrections, and keeping transportation and plant management informed.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensures data entry is timely and done daily. Transfers data into plant production folders and into ORACLE/Discover.
  2. Coordinates with Quality Assurance to ensure products meet company specifications before release.
  3. Maintains handwritten and Excel spreadsheets for cooler inventory, product logs, Hold Log, and shipments.
  4. Completes Tub and Lid reports, trailer scheduling, and ensures Ice Plant production reports are entered into GEMMS.
  5. Receives and processes product orders from internal/external customers, entering all orders into the system and correcting as needed.
  6. Schedules driver deliveries based on production orders.
  7. Maintains trailer inventory, both handwritten and in Excel; must be familiar with product codes.
  8. Participates in team development, communication, and implementation of policies, fostering cohesiveness and synergy.
  9. Supports Simmons Operating Systems principles, understanding their impact and communicating concerns or improvement ideas.
  10. Performs other duties supporting business objectives as needed.
  11. Physical activities include sitting and walking, sometimes in wet, cold, or slippery conditions, requiring PPE such as non-skid steel-toed boots, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
  12. Technical skills required include proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; ten-key experience is preferred. Must obtain a company-issued pallet jack license.
  13. Industry experience in poultry or food processing is preferred.
  14. Minimum education: ability to read, write English, and perform basic math. High school diploma or GED preferred.
