Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Specialist

Reports To: Area Supervisor

Department: Shipping/Receiving

Summary: LEVEL 1 OPERATOR

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

The Shipping & Receiving Specialist role encompasses several job functions within the Distribution area. It is the intent that, as the Shipping & Receiving Specialist develops, they will learn all these roles to be a Level 1 Operator:

LEVEL 1 Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills and understanding of RF device.
  • Understanding of current ERP system
  • SOP document Access and demonstrate how to properly perform the job functions.
  • Safety Training Requirements and Training Completion
  • Accessing SDS sheets
  • Forklift Certification
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of inventory control functions.
  • Understand all methods of moving material using RF device inside the warehouse.
  • Consolidate Material in the warehouse using RF device.
  • Properly build material on pallets in the warehouse.
  • Proper use of forklift attachments.
  • Understand current picking routines of the warehouse.
  • Ensure scanning accuracy of all warehouse movements.
  • Perform Building Transfers and Transfer Receipts
  • Perform all material movement functions within the warehouse.
  • Properly label all containers.
  • Performs routine housekeeping functions.
  • Ensures sampling procedures are followed.
  • Ensures stock of samples are replenished as required in a safe manner.
  • Adheres strictly to PPE requirements and container specifications.
  • Demonstrates how to properly repack items as required per instructions.
  • Ensures weight accuracy during the repack function.
  • Perform Grounding and bonding functions properly.
  • Knowledge of how to operate all equipment in the Distribution Area.
  • Knowledge of processing Allergen, Hotbox and Sensitive items
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all current packaging and size selections.
  • Demonstrate proper usage of the weight scales.
  • Understand and demonstrate the repack cleaning process for dishes and sanitizer checks.
  • Performs routine housekeeping functions.
  • Demonstrate how to perform the repack process for sales orders as well as stock orders.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of inventory control functions.
  • Follow all Food Safety requirements in the repack process.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training.

Language Ability:

Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals at all organizational levels. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, inventory/database software and the internet. Necessary skills include; contact management systems, database software, design software, spreadsheet and word processing software
