Job summary

Altor Solutions is seeking a Shipping Receiving Specialist to handle receiving, storing, and delivering goods within the warehouse and production areas. You will safely move goods to and from dock doors, operate power equipment, and perform related general labor as needed.

Candidates should be self-motivated with strong time management, capable of working independently and following safety standards. This is a full-time, on-site warehouse position requiring adherence to company safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Education and experience as listed: High school diploma or GED with 1–3 years related experience.
  • CDL is required for the role.
  • Must possess a current driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee loading, unloading, and handling of goods and materials.
  • Load trucks according to loading layouts.
  • Ensure all loads are strapped per DoT rules and inspect containers as needed.
  • Operate power industrial equipment.
  • Validate received materials with invoices and process bills of lading.
  • Ensure proper stocking and documentation per warehouse procedures.
  • Receive supplies into the warehouse and monitor inventory discrepancies.
  • Communicate with supervisors and managers to fulfill requirements.

Job Summary?

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist position works in the warehouse area for receiving, storing, and delivering of goods and supplies throughout the warehouse and production areas. The position is responsible for safely and efficiently driving unit to trailers to move to and from dock doors for loading and unloading trucks. The position may also perform general laborer duties, including site clean-up, yard work and building maintenance, as necessary. The incumbent is expected to be a self-starter, a good manager of time, work independently and follow Altor Solutions’ standards for safety and conduct.?


Essential Duties & Responsibilities?

Associates at this level are expected to have developed a trade of expertise and can work independently in the performance of the day-to-day responsibilities. The following list of major duties represents a composite list of typical duties performed by individuals in this position. ?Specific duties performed by the incumbent will vary depending upon the facility and/or department within the Company.?



  • Overseeing the proper loading, unloading, and handling of goods and materials.?

  • Ability to load trucks according to loading layouts ?

  • Ensure all loads are strapped in accordance with D.O.T. rules and regulations o Inspect containers as necessary?

  • Must be able to operate power industrial equipment?

  • Validating the received materials and goods with the invoices to ascertain the precision of the goods delivered.?

  • Ensuring the completion of all paperwork relating to the received goods and processing of the bills of lading, -- understand paperwork get signed copies of bills of ladings and understand BOL’s, pick sheets and other shipping paperwork?

  • Ensuring the proper handling and stocking of goods in compliance with warehousing and storage requirements.?

  • In charge of receiving supplies and materials into the Warehouse.?

  • May assist in monitoring the warehouse records and inventory and filing reports of discrepancies in quantities and damages to the supervisor.?


Ability to communicate with fellow workers, Supervisors and Managers. Communicate with your supervisor ensuring that all requirements are being met and that you have the necessary tools to complete the tasks at hand.?



  • Responsible for following Plant specified job specification, task list and completion of all requirement paperwork.?

  • Responsible for conducting him/herself in a safe manner and adhering to all required safety protocols and policies, including safe driving practices.?

  • Required to wear PPE properly in accordance with company standards. • Keep the area around your workstation clean and free from dirt and debris; this may include cleaning assigned ?areas of the building or pieces of equipment as instructed by your supervisor.?

  • Must be able to work assigned shifts, including working overtime and attending after shift meetings as needed.?

  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

The employee is occasionally required to push, pull, and/or move material and work in awkward positions, such as underneath equipment, or working around machines in operations area.?
