Job summary

DuBois Chemicals, Inc is seeking a Plant Associate to move containers, load/unload trucks, and ensure proper packaging and labeling. You will operate drum filling equipment, maintain cleanliness, and handle oils and chemicals with care.

A strong emphasis is placed on safety, accuracy, and meeting shipping requirements. The role requires the ability to lift up to 75 pounds and stand for extended periods, with education of a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Ability to read Bills of Lading written in English.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Basic math for packing and shipping operations.

Responsibilities

• Move empty and full containers throughout the plant using body, pallet jack, dolly, and/or forklift.
• Containers located inside the plant, outside, on truck trailers, and other buildings.
• Load and unload materials on incoming and outgoing trucks.
• Ensure products are marked and securely packaged for shipment; balance load weights on Rock Valley trucks.
• Ensure correct/legible product coding for finished goods and raw materials.
• Operate drum filling machines to package products and ensure proper fill requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness by inspecting empty containers before filling.
• Transfer oil and chemicals between containers via drum runner and dollies.
• Maintain cleanliness at work station; sweep, mop, and manage waste.
• Must lift/move up to 75 pounds and stand/bend/lift for extended periods.
• Report production or mechanical issues to supervisor; perform additional duties as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Move empty and full containers throughout the plant using body, pallet jack, dolly, and/or forklift.
• Containers will be located inside the plant, outside, on truck trailers, and other buildings.
• Load and unload materials on incoming and outgoing trucks.
• Ensure that products are marked as required and securely packaged for shipment, and correctly balance the weights of loads on Rock Valley trucks.
• Ensure that correct and legible product coding requirements are met for finished goods and raw materials.
• Operate drum filling machines to package various products into the appropriate containers and assure that proper fill requirements are met.
• Ensure that cleanliness standards are maintained by inspecting all empty containers before filling.
• Transfer oil and chemicals from one container to another via drum runner and drum dollies.
• Maintain expected cleanliness levels at work station and perform various duties throughout the plant, including but not limited to: sweeping, shoveling, mopping, scrubbing, emptying trash receptacles.
• Must be able to lift, move, lower and shift up to 75 pounds when needed, and stand, bend, lift and walk for extended periods of time.
• Perform simple math functions and understand Bills of Lading written in English.
• Communicate any production or mechanical malfunctions to supervisor.
• Perform additional duties as needed or requested by a supervisor.
