Job summary

The Pivot Group Network is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Lead in St. Johns, MI. This role leads shipping operations, ensuring accurate receipts, packing, labeling, and timely outbound shipments for manufacturing partners.

Candidates should have 3+ years in shipping/receiving, forklift certification, and experience with shipping software. This is an on-site opportunity with emphasis on accuracy, safety, and team training.

Qualifications

• Must have at least three years in shipping, receiving, or warehouse in manufacturing.
• Prior lead or supervisory experience on a small team is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read packing slips, bills of lading, and purchase orders accurately.
• Experience with shipping software and inventory systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks and verify counts with drivers before signing off.
• Enter receipts, shipments, and inventory adjustments in the warehouse system.
• Resolve shipment errors, carrier delays, and inventory discrepancies with purchasing and production.
• Train new team members on loading, paperwork, and safety procedures.
• Open the shipping area and review the day’s outbound orders and inbound deliveries.
• Assign work to shipping and receiving staff and confirm coverage for each shift.
• Check incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders and note shortages or damage.
• Prepare outbound shipments with correct labels, paperwork, and loading plans.

Salary Range: $48,000 – $70,000 depending on experience

Recommended Qualifications

• Ability to read packing slips, bills of lading, and purchase orders accurately.
• Prior lead or supervisory experience on a small team.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three or more years in shipping, receiving, or warehouse work in a manufacturing setting.
• Forklift certification and experience operating a forklift safely.
• Experience with shipping software and inventory systems.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with barcode scanning and RF equipment.
• OSHA forklift trainer certification.
• Experience with international shipping documents and customs paperwork.
• Knowledge of lean or 5S practices in a warehouse.
• CDL or experience moving trailers in a yard.
