Job summary

Ammega is seeking a Material Handler in Beacon, NY to support safety, 5S, shipping/receiving, and inventory control. The role focuses on accurate order picking, put-aways, cycle counting, and ERP transactions to keep production flowing.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean, organized work area, operating tow motors and pallet jacks, and collaborating with a team to improve quality and efficiency across the plant. First shift starting at $21.07/hr with optional second shift diff.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Tow motor experience / pallet jack.
  • Flexible with hours.
  • Computer processing experience (MS Office/Excel).
  • Warehouse experience using barcode scanners.
  • Must be able to work in the US.
  • Detail oriented and team-focused.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety procedures are followed and support the safety program.
  • Maintain 5S and clean, organized work area.
  • Manage workflow for merchandise throughout the plant.
  • Coordinate delivery of materials to machines from inventory location.
  • Reweigh and label residual material for disposal or reuse.
  • Move work orders in process to machines as needed.
  • Stage finished goods in designated locations.
  • Transact materials in ERP and perform cycle counts.
  • Pick, pack, and ship orders accurately and timely.
  • Support shipping/receiving activities.
  • Learn and navigate the inventory control system.

Job description

The Material Handler is accountable for safety, 5S, shipping, receiving freight, locating freight, put-aways, picking orders, shipping & receiving, cycle counting, assembly, process improvement and team productivity.

  • Ensures all safety procedures are followed and actively works to improve our safety program.
  • Ensures all quality procedures are followed and actively works to improve our quality program.
  • Manage workflow and delivery of merchandise throughout the plant.
  • Coordinate and execute the delivery of materials to machines from its inventory location.
  • Reweigh and return any residual unused material. Make sure it is labeled with name of material and qty.
  • Coordinate and execute the movement of work order in process to each machine, as needed.
  • Stage finished goods neatly in designated finished goods location
  • Transacting materials consumed by production in ERP
  • Maintain a clean & organized working environment (5s)
  • Pick orders timely & correctly
  • Cycle count materials
  • Learn & navigate our inventory control system
  • Ability to check-in, put away parts
  • Prepare handling of goods
  • Material receipts
  • Ability to pick & pack orders sturdy & presentable
  • Support shipping/receiving
  • Other duties as assigned
  • $21.07 per hour 1st shift (+$1.00 shift differential for 2nd)

Physical demands
  • Ability to frequently lift-up to 55 pounds.
  • This position is very active and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing; use of hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
  • This position requires frequent communications with other employees and freight carriers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
