Job summary

Ammega is seeking a detail-oriented Shipper & Receiver in Buford, GA to manage daily receipts and shipments. You will label, pack, and transfer inventory, operate a forklift, and ensure accurate documentation.

Responsibilities include processing orders via USPS/UPS/FedEx, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining inventory accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Must lift up to 50 lbs and be able to work in the US.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1+ years’ experience in retail or e-commerce.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing dynamics.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Solid basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to be trained/certified on powered industrial truck (P.I.T.).
  • Understand stock locator system.
  • Must be able to work in the US.

  • Coordinate with carrier and schedule shipping for each package.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and update supplies as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Shipper & Receiver’s primary responsibility is to manage the daily receipts and shipments for the facility. It includes packaging and labeling of all outgoing material and as well as a transfer of inventory for all incoming products. This role is required to be familiar with forklift operation and proper lifting techniques associated with moving and handling of material.

A day in the life of a Shipper & Receiver can look like

  • Observe and follow safety rules as prescribed by the safety policy. Completes an expected amount of work based on time studies in accordance with schedule. Able to operate all necessary equipment in a proficient manner.
  • Print daily sales receipts and cross-check with computer software to ensure accuracy
  • Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs
  • Assemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped
  • Affix proper postage to each package in preparation for shipping
  • Track inventory and report any shortages to sales team so we can update the website
  • Process orders based on the buyer’s preferred shipping system (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.)
  • Contact carrier and schedule shipping for each package
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed
  • All other duties as assigned.
