Job summary

Schaefer Plastics is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Associate to ensure the safe movement of materials and products within a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse setting. You will operate sit-down forklifts, load and unload shipments, and support inventory maintenance and production activities.

The ideal candidate has forklift experience and a strong focus on accuracy, safety, and teamwork in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing required.
• Previous forklift operating experience required; ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
• Ability to read and understand shipping documents, packing slips, labels, and work instructions.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
• Must be available to work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts when required by business needs.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate sit-down forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
• Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers safely and efficiently.
• Receive incoming materials, components, supplies, and products.
• Prepare, stage, and move finished products and materials for shipment.
• Transport materials between receiving, storage, production, staging, and shipping areas.
• Place materials and products in designated storage locations.
• Verify item numbers, quantities, labels, and shipment information for incoming and outgoing orders.
