Bardstown Bourbon Company is hiring a Shipping & Receiving Dock Associate to handle inbound and outbound shipments at our Bardstown, KY facility. The role involves loading/unloading, accurate counts, WMS transactions, and maintaining clean, compliant shipping records.

Requires at least two years of relevant experience, a valid CDL with clean driving record, and fluency in English. The position is full-time, non-exempt, with Monday–Thursday shifts and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in loading and unloading packages from delivery vehicles, trailers, pallets, etc.
• Perform accurate counts on materials inbound and outbound.
• Conduct cycle counts as needed.
• Process transactions in the WMS for materials transfer.
• Report defective materials or packaging issues to supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety regulations.
• Cross-train on bottling forklifts to provide back-up during breaks and vacations.
• Operate a forklift, hand trolley, and Yard Dog to move trailers.
• Move materials to proper departments or areas.
• Support ISO quality and food safety programs.

Green River Distillery is located in Owensboro and is the 10th oldest distillery in the state producing more than 90,000 barrels of bourbon and rye for its own brands and partners. They produce the flagship Green River Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey which started in 1885 and was re-launched in February 2022.

The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for verifying and maintaining records/documentation on incoming and outgoing shipments using quality standards. Duties will include moving trailers, unloading delivery trucks, loading materials to ship, stocking and moving materials.

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES

This position requires the following:

• Assist in loading and unloading packages from delivery vehicles, trailers, pallets, etc.
• Performs accurate counts on materials & goods inbound and outbound.
• Performs cycle counts on materials as needed.
• Perform accurate WMS (workforce management system) and computer transactions necessary for materials transfer.
• Reports defective materials or questionable conditions of packages to the department supervisor.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Cross-train on Bottling Forklifts to provide back-up during breaks, lunches and vacation time as needed.
• Keeps organized & legible shipping records.
• Operate a forklift, and hand trolley.
• Operate a Yard Dog to move trailers in and out of dock doors as well as transfer trailers to the offsite warehouse.
• Move and transfer materials to proper departments or areas.
• Commitment to the Company’s ISO program including the quality and food safety of our products.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Have a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
• A valid CDL license and good driving record.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Possess excellent organizational skills.
• Speak and write fluent English.
• Be accurate and consistent in performing duties.
• Have basic computer and math skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Talk and hear.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb all day.
• Frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
• Long periods of standing and walking.
• Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Able to physically navigate around the plant/production area, including repetitive climbing of stairs and elevated walkways.
